Marching On. . . 21st Century Love During a Time of Violence: Wayne & Sabrina (9)

For endless days and senseless weeks
Wayne’s pain didn’t ease or cease.
He missed his beautiful Sabrina.
His spirits weakening.
His tall frame leaner… He could not eat…
His calls she refused.
Yes, his father was pleased:
“Just leave her be!
Where is your pride.
If you’d listen to me
she’d not have been your bride…”
Mr. Kang,
Sabrina did thoroughly disdain.
Her mother, her people. Hated
the fact that she bore his name.
Away from him now Wayne did see
how manipulated he’d claim to be
to treat his Sabrina so dishonorably.
He often wept in secret.
To his Creator began to plead:
“Please return Sabrina to me…”
One day, he sat upon campus ground
despite a chill that had him lonely found
on a large rock
he began to again read
of wisdom sound
he’d release from his leather backpack
placed upon grassy ground.
His daily text, which as a young teen indeed
did help him daily to succeed
against all manner of immoral adversities:
“Nothing will be able to separate us from God’s love.—Rom. 8:39.”
So simple; yet so profound…
Wayne dropped his head
while tears of humiliation
from his heart fled
for what he’d just read…
He’d failed his father.
From his guidelines fled…
It seemed time dragged before able to again read,
but Wayne lifted his eyes to heaven to again
sincerely plead:
“I’m so sorry that I made your heart bleed…
Can you forgive me… Help me again see
that Proverbs 27:11* can really apply
to one who had become dark and dead inside.”
***
“Be wise, my son, and make my heart rejoice,
So that I can make a reply
to him who taunts me.”... So arrogantly.
***
Wayne’s emotions soon settled
allowing him to again reread
in a way that in the past
gave Sabrina cause to believe
that they’d be together
eternally.
“The apostle Paul was familiar with Jesus’ promise that “everyone exercising faith in Jesus might… have everlasting life.” (John 3:16; Rom. 6:23).
Wayne paused in thought…
Wasn’t Paul once Saul, who wickedly against Christianity
flagrantly fought?
Warred against Stephen?
Watched him stoned?
Yet Jehovah and Christ saw his motives.
His zeal redirected; his actions to hone…
“Paul certainly was among those who were exercising faith in the ransom. He was convinced that Jehovah is ready to forgive even those who have sinned seriously
if they are repentant. (Ps. 86:5)
Paul also had faith in the power of God’s love
as expressed by Christ.
Notice the reassuring words at the end of Galatians 2:20.
Paul said: “The Son of God… loved me
and handed himself over for me.”
Paul did not put a limit on God’s love,
as if to say,
‘I can see why Jehovah would love my brothers,
but he could not possibly love me.’
Paul reminded the Romans:
“While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom. 5:8)
God’s love knows no boundaries!
Paul was absolutely convinced of the power of God’s love.
Paul knew how Jehovah had patiently dealt with the nation of Israel.”
Wayne sat and pondered over these words
this day. His spine to stiffened. No more to delay.
He grabbed his bag and started on his way
for the first time in awhile
he had a skip in his step…
While seated in her window seat,
Sabrina lifted up her head to heaven
as she did everyday
about her mother, Mr. Kang, her brothers and sisters
around the globe suffering.
That their ‘faith’ did not sway.
That they’d endure or change directions
before ‘Jehovah’s Day’
caught them off guard…
But especially for Wayne
did she fervently pray…To Be Cont’d

Remember the Prophets
“Let justice flow down like waters,
And righteousness
like an ever-flowing stream.” Amos 5:24.
***
“Do horses run
on a crag,
Or will one plow there with cattle?
For you have turned justice
into a poisonous plant,
And the fruit of righteousness
into wormwood.”
“Search for Jehovah,
and keep living”. Amos 6:12; 5:6
“Tell them,
‘“As surely as I am alive,”
declares the Sovereign Lord Jehovah,
“I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked,
but rather that someone wicked changes his way
and keeps living.
Turn back, turn back from your bad ways,
for why should you die”? Ezekiel 33:11.
“‘These are the things you should do:
Speak the truth with one another,
and the judgments in your gates
must promote truth and peace.
Do not scheme calamity
against one another in your hearts,
and do not love any false oath;
for these are all things that I hate,’
declares Jehovah.”” Zech. 8:16, 17.
“The One who made the Kiʹmah constellation and the Keʹsil constellation,
The One who turns deep shadow into morning,
The One who makes day as dark as night,
The One who summons the waters of the sea
To pour them out on the surface of the earth
—Jehovah is his name.” Amos 5:8.
***
“The great day of Jehovah is near!
It is near
and it is approaching very quickly!
The sound of the day of Jehovah
is bitter.
There a warrior cries out.
That day is a day of fury,
A day of distress and anguish,
A day of storm and desolation,
A day of darkness and gloom,
A day of clouds and thick gloom”. Zeph. 1:14, 15.
“And everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved”. Joel 2:32.
