Marching On. . . 21st Century Love During a Time of Violence: Wayne & Sabrina (4))

My inwards mellow when I think of rain.
Its pitter patter to stay one sane.
Water that thunders down
upon an unshaded window pane.
This wondrous weather I love seated
or when simply laying
Out
chapbooks and coffee
to enjoy the day and gentle sound.
It truly allays
the rush and hurry of hectic delays
and traffic stays.
Yes, I do delight and gratefully pray
while precipitation stresses slay
mercifully, daily anxiety
as I meditate
as pings repeat.
The swish of wheels and squish of feet
along the rim of shadowy streets
’til neath my covers, it peaks me
to sweet and delicious needed sleep
to doze ten thousand reams.
Yet, still in all
my happy dreams refuse to dim
as I think on glorious cycles from ancient streams
vaporized and circled again
to cloud the skies from heavenly beams
that rainbows beautifully
after sun’s return
to lift again fine mist and spurn
a drought
that would our soil do burn
if not for lovely storms
as blessings to man
which never he earned.
My inwards mellow when I think of rain.
Its pitter patter to stay one sane.
Water that thunders down
upon an unshaded window pane.
This wondrous weather I love seated
or when simply laying.

Sabrina watched
her mother putter around the kitchen;
then, for a brief moment, disappear upstairs
to return with her tattered family picture album
underneath her arm
unaware of the storm that once raged inside her.
Similar to the one Sabrina had just exited.
Which now is just a pleasant tap against the windows.
Sabrina never knew her mother’s history.
In the past,
their relationship
did not include bonding.
Everything she’d learned about her mother
had come from her father to help her comprehend
a mother’s love buried deep within.
Now here she was to become a mother too.
Seemingly without the help of a loving father
through whom this journey could be sweeter.
She kept her head up to keep from weeping.
Though, Kim saw a tear appear
and slip down her cheek, which Sabrina
wiped away quickly as if a speck of dirt sweeping.
The fire kept the room cozy
as through the kitchen window
they watched the sun awaken.
Then Kim opened her album
to thumb through.
Began to explain to Sabrina the history
about these Vietnamese people she once loved;
once knew.
Sabrina wanted sincerely to listen intently;
but after what she’d just experienced
in her own little home
all she really wanted
was to return to her own room
and figure out how to escape this forest
threatening to consume her.
Swallow her whole.
This world of utter gloom
filled with hatred, violence, and bloodshed.
Yes. Where a ‘love’ natural
had grown utterly stone cold…To Be Cont’d.

“But know this,
that in the last days
critical times hard to deal with will be here.
For men will be lovers of themselves,
lovers of money,
boastful, haughty, blasphemers,
disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal,
having no natural affection,
not open to any agreement,
slanderers, without self-control,
fierce, without love of goodness,
betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride,
lovers of pleasures
rather than lovers of God,
having an appearance of godliness
but proving false to its power;
and from these turn away.
From among these arise men
who slyly work their way into households
and captivate weak women
loaded down with sins,
led by various desires,
always learning
and yet never able
to come to an accurate knowledge
of truth.” 2 Tim 3:1-7.

The one who is from God listens to the sayings of God.—
Many are stumbled because our Bible-based teachings expose false religious ideas. Clergymen teach their flocks that God punishes the wicked in hell. They use that false teaching to maintain control over the people. As Jehovah’s servants, who worship a God of love, we expose that false teaching. The clergy also teach that the soul is immortal. We expose the pagan origin of that doctrine, which—if true—would make the resurrection irrelevant. And contrary to the belief in predestination that many religions embrace, we teach that man has free will and can choose to serve God. How do religious leaders respond? Often, they are furious! If we love the truth, we must accept the sayings of God. (John 8:45, 46) Unlike Satan the Devil, we stand fast in the truth. We never compromise our beliefs. (John 8:44) God requires that his people “abhor what is wicked” and “cling to what is good,” just as Jesus did.—Rom. 12:9; Heb. 1:9.
