How Thankful We Are to Inhabit This Land

How Thankful We Are to Inhabit This Land

A child
whose recent last gift
he quickly forgets–

a car
thoughtfully purchased
then
immediately wrecked,

Who stacks up
tossed aside ‘wants’
in thankless neglect

Reflects
Our Society Today:

Ungrateful
Squanderers.
Spoiled.

Arrogant

In regards to
personal accountability

responsibility
deflects.

Own
self

strenuously
protects

as others
they eye
in daily
suspect

while pondering wickedly
insurances
future

to unworthily
collect.

*

“If a servant is pampered from his youth,
He will become thankless later on.”
Prov. 29:21.

*

Yet,
Individually,

We can pause
to inspect our surrounds
which in generosity

Lovingly
From our Creator

Wonderously
abounds:

Should we disdain
‘copious rains’
which may detain
our ‘competitive’ games

while
‘succulents’
drink thirstily
to continually
beautiful remain

A pleasure
to human eyes?

Do we despise
our irritant
‘fly’

although,

he helps break down
and consume
garbage, feces, decaying vegetation and dead animal bodies?

(As Quincy, CSI, or Bones
in speculation
presumes,

a ‘blowfly’s’ larvae appearance
helps determine
the time of death in homicide cases.)

We also
need not assume:

Some species of flies assist with the pollination of plants
as do ‘bees’.

Flowers
to them also
as fragrant perfume.

Everything in its place
maintains a balance
for our human race.

There exists ample room.

*

So,

as each day
we take our place
on this glorious planet
held in exquisite
universal
gravitational space

amid spiraling galaxies
upon which our scoped vision graces,

Can we not imitate
King David’s
Praises

:

Yours,
O Jehovah,

are the greatness and the mightiness
and the beauty and the splendor
and the majesty,

for everything in the heavens and on the earth is yours.

“Yours is the kingdom,
O Jehovah.

You are the One exalting yourself as head over all.

The riches and the glory are from you,
and you rule over everything,

and in your hand
there are power and mightiness,

and your hand is able to make great
and to give strength to all.

And now,
O our God,

we thank you
and praise
your beautiful name.

“And yet,

who am I and who are my people that we should be in a position to

make voluntary offerings

like this?

For everything is from you,

and we have given to you
what comes from your own hand.”
1 Chron. 29:11-14.

*

How,
thankful we are:

To Inhabit This Land.

*

“For this is what Jehovah says,

The Creator of the heavens,
the true God,

The One who formed the earth,
its Maker who firmly established it,

Who did not create it simply for nothing,
but formed it to be inhabited:

“I am Jehovah,
and there is no one else.”
Isa. 45:18.

“As for the heavens,
they belong to Jehovah,

But the earth he has given
to the sons of men.”
Ps. 115:16.
