Truth’s Importance Renewed

“For there will be a period of time
when they will not put up with the wholesome teaching,
but according to their own desires,
they will surround themselves with teachers to have their ears tickled.
They will turn away from listening
to the truth
and give attention to false stories.” 2 Tim. 4:3, 4.
But “God did not give us
a spirit of cowardice,
but one of power
and of love
and of soundness of mind.” 2 Tim. 1:7.
To search out ‘truth’,
believed impossible to find
because in the last days
critical times
hard to deal with will be here.”
“Wicked men and impostors
will advance from bad to worse,
misleading and being misled.” 2 Tim. 3:1, 13.
***
“What is truth?”* an ancient ruler asked
putting proof of truth’s existence and value
to global task…
Need one climb a mountain
it to seek?
The highest grounds
with steepest peaks?
***
“Now these (Boreans)
were more noble-minded
than those in Thes·sa·lo·niʹca,
for they accepted the word
with the greatest eagerness of mind,
carefully examining the Scriptures daily
to see whether these things were so.” Acts 17:11.
***
Need one uplift a ‘Rock’
to search for ‘truth’?
Or is one uplifted
when the ‘Rock’ does you pursue?
***
“Into your hand I entrust my spirit.
You have redeemed me,
O Jehovah, the God of truth.” Ps. 31:5.
“The Rock,
perfect is his activity,
For all his ways are justice.
A God of faithfulness
who is never unjust;
Righteous and upright is he.” Deut. 32:4.
“Send out your light
and your truth.
May these lead me;
May they guide me to your holy mountain
and to your grand tabernacle.” Ps. 43:3.
“O Jehovah, do not withhold your mercy from me.
May your loyal love and your truth constantly safeguard me.” Ps. 40:11.
“For the commandment is a lamp,
And the law is a light,
And the reproofs of discipline are the way to life.” Prov. 6:23.
“Your word is truth.” John 17:17.
So let me hear your Word.
Around the earth, may it resound.
For only there is ‘truth’ really found…
***
“God is a Spirit,
and those worshipping him
must worship with spirit
and truth.” John 4:24.
Jah, “whose will is
that all sorts of people should be saved
and come to an accurate knowledge
of truth.” 1 Tim. 2:4.
***
“O Jehovah, who may be a guest in your tent?
Who may reside in your holy mountain?
The one who is walking faultlessly,
Practicing what is right
And speaking the truth
in his heart.” Ps. 15:1, 2.
For: “You will destroy those who speak lies.
Jehovah detests violent and deceptive people.” Ps. 5:6.
Also, we must make ‘public declaration’
whole-souled on our part
as Jesus stated to one ‘versed in the Law’:
“‘You must love Jehovah your God
with your whole heart and with your whole soul
and with your whole mind.’
This is the greatest and first commandment.
The second, like it, is this:
‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’
On these two commandments the whole Law hangs,
and the Prophets.”” Matt. 22:37-40.
So, to his disciples he did impart:
“Go, therefore,
and make disciples of people
of all the nations,
baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the holy spirit,
teaching them
to observe all the things
I have commanded you.
And look!
I am with you all the days
until the conclusion
of the system of things.” Matt. 28:19. 20.
Then: “Truthful lips
will endure forever”. Prov. 12:19.
” For “whoever would love life and see good days
must guard his tongue from bad
and his lips from speaking deception.” 1 Pet. 3:10.
John 18:38;
“Lies That Make God Seem Unlovable.”
