Marching On. . . 21st Century Love During a Time of Violence: Wayne & Sabrina (16) 1st draft

Wayne sat in his truck near the lake
with both passenger and driver’s window cracked
to enjoy a descending evening’s tranquil breeze
rereading today’s text on his phone:
(A habit long ago lost,
but now determined, he, this routine to protect.)
“Indeed, consider closely
the one who has endured such hostile speech
from sinners
against their own interests,
so that you may not get tired
and give up.” Heb. 12:3.
Wayne reviewed what he once knew:
That Jesus was “handed over to men of the nations”;
“mocked and treated insolently and spat on.” Luke 18:32.
“Those passing by spoke abusively of him,
shaking their heads and saying:
“You who would throw down the temple
and build it in three days,
save yourself!
If you are a son of God,
come down off the torture stake!”” Matt. 27:39, 40.
The abuse he himself intimately knew.
With Christ, in this instant, he could relate to.
Even verse 43-46 he further reviewed:
“He has put his trust in God;
let Him now rescue him if He wants him,
for he said, ‘I am God’s Son.’”
In the same way,
even the robbers who were on stakes alongside him
were reproaching him.
From the sixth hour on, a darkness fell over all the land
until the ninth hour.
About the ninth hour,
Jesus called out with a loud voice, saying:
“Eʹli, Eʹli, laʹma sa·bach·thaʹni?”
that is,
“My God, my God,
why have you forsaken me?””
This way,
Wayne had felt too.
He dropped his phone onto his lap
and his head onto the steering wheel
to weep
for all that he put
Jehovah and Jesus
and his loved one’s through… To Be Cont’d.

Man Has Dominated Man To His Harm’ (Contest / Speak to my Heart)

Pain at times gallops
without human capability to grab hold of lost reigns
as hearts pump wildly in anxiety;
while winds spin horrendous images
flashing as lightning
to strike bodies into a reoccurring shock.
Yet, let us not block out “the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials”. 2 Cor. 1:3, 4.
Recall a world of violence long ago ended
because: “Jehovah saw that man’s wickedness was great on the earth
and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart
was only bad all the time.
Jehovah regretted that he had made men on the earth,
and his heart was saddened.” Gen. 6:5, 6.

“Moreover, just as it occurred in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of man: they were eating, they were drinking, men were marrying, women were being given in marriage until that day when Noah entered into the ark, and the Flood came and destroyed them all.” Luke 17:26, 27.

Yes, blackness as deep as the Mariana Trench still descends upon us. Instills fear in minds not able to pretend blindness for “man has dominated man to his harm.” Eccl. 8:9. For centuries seemingly defenseless.
However: “When the wicked sprout like weeds and all the wrongdoers flourish, It is that they may be annihilated forever.” Ps. 92:7.
Beckons Christ : “Come to me, all you who are toiling and loaded down, and I will refresh you.” Matt. 11:28… “He will bring justice to the nations.”
“In faithfulness he will bring justice.
He will not grow dim or be crushed until he establishes justice in the earth; And the islands keep waiting for his law.” Isa. 42:1-4.

“May you have undeserved kindness and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Cor. 1:2.

Man has dominated man to his harm.—Eccl. 8:9.
Today many find it hard to trust anyone in authority. They have observed that the legal and the political systems tend to favor the wealthy and the powerful and to deny justice to the poor. In addition, the conduct of certain religious leaders leaves much to be desired, which has caused some people to lose confidence in God. So when a person agrees to study the Bible with us, we face the challenge of helping him to build trust in Jehovah and trust in His earthly representatives. Of course, Bible students are not the only ones who need to learn to trust in Jehovah and to trust in his organization. Even those of us who have been in the truth for many years must never lose sight of the fact that Jehovah’s way of doing things is always best. At times, situations arise that may test our confidence in that regard. w22.02 2 ¶1-2
