Glorious Skies
Hotter than hottest lava flowing
scorching verdant land–molten iron
centered in our glorious globe
a spinning ball producing a prodigious
powerful magnetic field–
accommodating imperfect man;
stretching afar into distant space
protecting us from full intensity of cosmic radiation
and potentially deadly forces
emanating from our sun’s glorious rays.
It’s solar wind, a steady stream of energetic particles;
solar flares releasing in minutes
as much energy as hydrogen bombs, billions;
and in the outer region, explosions
or corona, of the sun,
which blast matter into space–
billions of tons.
Visible reminders of protection you receive
from the earth’s magnetic field,
one can awesomely see as
in our sun’s corona
solar flares and explosions
trigger intense auroras,
colorful displays magnificent
of light visible in the upper atmosphere
near earth’s magnetic poles
dancing across our skies so beautifully…

“The heavens are declaring the glory of God;
The skies above proclaim the work of his hands.

And night after night they reveal knowledge.

But into all the earth their sound has gone out,

Yes, space is a dangerous place
where meteoroids are an ever-present danger
in their furious race
yet, our blue planet seems to soar
through this active galaxy with relative impunity
since earth’s protected by amazing armor—
a powerful magnetic field
and a custom-made atmosphere
of which our intrigued men and women of science
internationally do explore
since this blanket of gases not only keeps us breathing
with its additional protection,
the stratosphere: An outer layer
of the atmosphere, containing a form of oxygen
called ozone, which changes,
growing as the intensity of UV radiation rises.
So this ozone layer is a dynamic, efficient shield
which consumer greed sadly despises:
“But the nations became wrathful,
and your own wrath came,
and the appointed time came… to bring to ruin
those ruining the earth.”” Rev. 11:18.

For Jehovah has comforted his people,

Lift up your eyes to heaven and see. Who has created these things?—Isa. 40:26.
You can build your faith in the Creator by observing animals, plants, and stars. (Ps. 19:1) The more you study such things, the more convinced you will become that Jehovah is the Creator. When studying creation, pay careful attention to what the facts reveal about our Creator. (Rom. 1:20) For instance, you may know that our sun, in addition to providing life-giving heat, emits harmful energy in the form of ultraviolet rays. We humans need to be protected from those rays. And we are! How? Our earthly home has its own protective shield—a layer of ozone gas that filters out the harmful radiation. As the ultraviolet rays from the sun get more intense, the amount of ozone grows. Now, do you not agree that there must be someone behind this process and that he must be a loving and an intelligent Creator?
