The ‘Living God’
“I well know,
O Jehovah,
that man’s way
does not belong to him.
It does not belong to man who is walking
even to direct his step.”
Jer. 10:23.
Did not Great King Nebuchadnezzar
mandate:
“I am issuing an order
that in every domain
of
my kingdom,
people are to tremble
in fear
before
the God of Daniel.
For he is the living God
and he endures forever.
His kingdom
will never be destroyed,
and his rulership
is eternal.”
Dan. 6:26.
For:
“Jehovah
is truly God.
He is the living God
and the eternal King.
Because of his indignation
the earth
will quake,
And no nations
will endure
his denunciation.
This is what you should say to them:
“The gods
that did not make the heavens and the earth
Will perish from the earth
and from under these heavens.”
He is the Maker of the earth
by his power,
The One who established the productive land
by his wisdoms
And who stretched out the heavens
by his understanding.
When he makes his voice heard,
The waters in the heavens are in turmoil,
And he causes clouds to ascend from the ends of the earth.
He makes lightning for the rain,
And he brings the wind out of his storehouses.
Every man acts unreasonably
and without knowledge.
Every metalworker
will be put to shame
because of the carved image;
For his metal image is a falsehood,
And there is no spirit in them.
They are a delusion,
a work of mockery.
When their day of reckoning comes,
they will perish.”
Jer. 10:10-15.

“In the days of those kings
the God of heaven
will set up a kingdom
that will never be destroyed.
And this kingdom
will not be passed on to any other people.
It will crush and put an end
to all these kingdoms,
and it alone
will
stand forever”.
Dan. 2:44.

from the earth,

“Trust in Jehovah
and
do what is good;
Reside in the earth,
and
act with faithfulness.
Find exquisite delight
in Jehovah,
And he will grant you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way
to Jehovah;
Rely on him,
and
he will act
in your behalf.
He will make your righteousness shine like daybreak,
And your justice like the midday sun.
Keep silent before Jehovah
And wait expectantly for him.
Do not be upset by the man
Who succeeds in carrying out his schemes.
Let go of anger and abandon rage;
Do not become upset and turn to doing evil.
For evil men will be done away with,
But those hoping in Jehovah
will possess the earth.
Just a little while longer,
and the wicked will be no more;
You will look at where they were,
And they will not be there.
But the meek
will possess the earth,
And they will find exquisite delight
in the abundance of peace.”
