A Glorious Gift

A Glorious Gift (contest Snow – Michael mc dermott)

Flurries

fill a world
outside my window

seated
I peek
through curtains
heavy

to keep out cold
chill;

created

a beautiful
crystal clear wonder

once–a blurry haze;

amazed
am I

by unique individual flakes
formed

to minds
thrill

awed
squeals

during their harmonious
gathering together

to cover

grime,
dirt,

fall
to forgive
in majestic forget

a past of filth
masked…

presented

a loving erase
skirting ugly regret
with its scarred pitiful face:

““Come, now,
and let us set matters straight
between us,” says Jehovah.

“Though your sins are like scarlet,
They will be made as white as snow;

Though they are as red as crimson cloth,
They will become like wool.

If you show willingness and listen,
You will eat the good things of the land.” Isa. 1:18, 19.
Forever in knowledge to grow:

“This means everlasting life,

their coming to know you, the only true God,
and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.” John 17:3.

Make no mistake
and miss
this splendid opportunity

provided

because of their selfless love
shown:

“For God loved the world so much
that he gave his only-begotten Son,

so that everyone exercising faith in him
might not be destroyed

but have everlasting life.”
 John 3:16.

Yes, our very lives are at stake:

“Have you entered the storehouses of the snow,

Or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,
Which I have reserved for the time of distress,

For the day of battle and war?”
 Job 38:22, 23.

Is Jesus Christ God?
Many people regard Jesus as the most influential person in history. But is he Almighty God himself? Or was he simply a good man?
