‘And the Sea Is No More’

“The wicked are like the restless sea that cannot calm down,
And its waters keep tossing up seaweed and mire.”
 Isa. 57:20.

***

“But there are
new heavens and a new earth
that we are awaiting
according to his promise,

and in these

righteousness is to dwell.”
 2 Pet. 3:13.

Because: “He has established the earth on its foundations;
It will not be moved from its place

forever and ever.”
 Ps. 104:5.

However, before this lovely take-over
greater than any human endeavors
we are feeling the affects of this warning:

“wicked men and impostors will advance from bad to worse, misleading

and being misled.”
 2 Tim. 3:13… They will persist ‘willful’ until the end of this prophecy being fulfilled:

“For there will be great distress on the land and wrath against this people.” Luke 21:23.

Yes: “there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now,

no, nor will occur again.”
 Matt. 24:21.

“Also, there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars,

and on the earth anguish of nations not knowing the way out because of the roaring of the sea and its agitation.

People will become faint out of fear and expectation of the things coming upon the inhabited earth,

for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

And then they will see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

But as these things start to occur,

stand up straight and lift up your heads, because your deliverance is getting near.”
 Luke 21:25-28.

“By your endurance
you will preserve your lives.”
 Luke 21:19.
For: “the one who has endured to the end
will be saved.”
Mark 13:13.

“This is what Jehovah says:”
of offspring of a people
once by his own faithful prophet Moses

led

to a glorious new land:

“Just as when new wine is found in a cluster of grapes
And someone says,

‘Do not destroy it, for there is some good in it,’

So I will do for the sake of my servants;
I will not destroy them all.”
 Isa. 65:8.

Therefore: “Search for Jehovah
while he may be found.

Call to him while he is near.

Let the wicked man leave his way
And the evil man his thoughts;

Let him return to Jehovah,
who will have mercy on him,

To our God,
for he will forgive in a large way.”
 Isa. 55:6, 7.

For notice how this verse sheds light on Jah’s mercy
upon even those briefly ahead:

“I have let myself be searched for by those who did not ask for me;

I have let myself be found by those who did not look for me.

I said, ‘Here I am, here I am!’ to a nation that was not calling on my name.

I have spread out my hands
all day long

to a stubborn people,

To those walking in the way
that is not good,

Following their own thoughts;

A people who constantly offend me
to my face,

Sacrificing in gardens
and making sacrificial smoke on bricks.”

“Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah says:

“Look! My servants will eat,
but you will go hungry.

Look! My servants will drink,
but you will go thirsty.

Look! My servants will rejoice,
but you will suffer shame.

Look! My servants will shout joyfully because of the good condition of the heart,

But you will cry out because of the pain of heart
And you will wail because of a broken spirit.

You will leave behind a name that my chosen ones will use as a curse,

And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will put each of you to death,
But his own servants he will call by another name;

So that anyone who seeks a blessing for himself in the earth
Will be blessed by the God of truth,

And anyone who swears an oath in the earth
Will swear by the God of truth.

For the former distresses will be forgotten;
They will be concealed from my eyes.

For look! I am creating new heavens and a new earth;
And the former things will not be called to mind,
Nor will they come up into the heart.

So exult and be joyful forever
in what I am creating.”
 Isa 65:1-3: 13-18.

Therefore: “pay attention to yourselves

that your hearts never become weighed down with overeating and heavy drinking and anxieties of life,

and suddenly that day be instantly upon you
as a snare.

For it will come upon all those dwelling on the face of the whole earth.

Keep awake, then,

all the time making supplication that you may succeed in escaping all these things that must occur and in standing before the Son of man.”
 Luke 21:34-36.

“No one who rests his faith on him will be disappointed.”

For there is no distinction
between Jew and Greek.

There is the same Lord over all,
who is rich toward all those

calling on him.

For “everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah
will be saved.”
 Rom. 10:11-13.

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away,

and the sea is no more.”
 Rev. 21:1.

Great tribulation
The Greek word for “tribulation” conveys the idea of distress or suffering resulting from the pressures of circumstances. Jesus spoke of an unprecedented “great tribulation” that would come upon Jerusalem and especially of one that would later befall mankind in connection with his future ‘coming with glory.’ (Mt 24:21, 29-31) Paul described this tribulation as a righteous act of God against “those who do not know God and those who do not obey the good news” about Jesus Christ. Revelation chapter 19 shows Jesus as the one leading heavenly armies against “the wild beast and the kings of the earth and their armies.” (2Th 1:6-8; Re 19:11-21) “A great crowd” is shown as surviving that tribulation. (Re 7:9, 14)—See ARMAGEDDON.
