Despite the Night (Contest What’s Happening ? – Irish Rose)

As stars brighten
‘enlighten’ dark nights

encouraged I am
to cling real tight

despite black ocean on ship half sunk
with riggings busted by truths ‘debunked’

I steel my eyes
against violent sights
of sordid blights

which bleaken ‘real’ faith
in future bright,

weaken courage or resolution,
yes, sink a soul into absolute dissolution…

Make one believe more in ‘wrongs’
than ‘just’ or ‘right’…

So I look high to what is goal–

strengthen me to weather each stormy fight
until thunder and lightening during ‘reign’ take flight…

After which exists a brilliant sky.

So cling real tight
despite the night…
