Shouted into raging waves of a thunderous sea as you stand on the precipice with a gale wind at your back. This invisible attacker or few inspiring you to leap in anger.
Whispered in dark corners as music disjointed agitated your heartstrings and smoke burned your eyes causing you difficulty in seeing or breathing.
Who stood on stage snapping fingers as they recited poetry about aliens in delirium while cats meowed their approval?
In secrecy searched. Blue or white screens sometimes blinking in frustration as a keyboard taps out plans: equality, liberty, and freedom. Bursting balloons of hope in violent spite. To break through chains confining a globe trembling as volcanoes worldwide explode after rumbling centuries. Spewed desires. In ‘enough’ rolled over. Out of control. Consuming victims asleep. Not watchful. Old. Young.
While in other parts of a disunited earth, rallies arise like forest fires from dried twigs lit. Walked away, the instigators quick without a backward glance or a twinge of conscience.
Flags to freedom from oppression, discrimination, and poverty. “Wave them!” rings tones various from hoarse throats as iron and clay toes composed of Democracy track through bloody time dragging a cracked bell called “Liberty!”.
True freedom versus relative freedom of necessity defined. As ancient to now read: “man has dominated man to his harm.” Eccl. 8:9. Mankind’s black history… Instead of lifted up in real community:
‘shoulder-to-shoulder’
in brotherhood as a barn-raising; no more hazing; bonfires for hot dogs and marshmallows only.
Who decides how we should walk the line? And where is it leading?
Can we not peer “into the perfect law that belongs to freedom” since this one who “continues in it… will be happy in what he does.” Jas. 1:25.
Law leads to freedom?… Protestors spout: “No! No! Laws must go!” ramming down thick doors blocking personal flamboyant or aggressive expressions on parade. “See Me! See Me!” the current rage.
But what happens when doors are ripped open? What’s on the opposite side? Is not void, emptiness, sadness, tragedy in this ‘castle’ left abandoned after emotional decisions heartfelt made?
How could one see the infinite possibilities of failure?
Once, in a garden, a couple actually existed truly free… Free from ‘want’ ‘fear’ ‘oppression’. Still ‘absolute’ was not possessed by these perfect specimens. Though no ‘robots’ designed to trample through life emotionless without digression.
The World Book Encyclopedia states: “From a legal point of view, people are free if society imposes no unjust, unnecessary, or unreasonable limits on them.”
Not agreed: certain limits are necessary so that everyone in that society can benefit from the freedom granted?
Who has the right to determine what limits are just, necessary, and reasonable?
Shall a briar bush attempt to beat a strapping tree to keep him from being his best when a briar bush shrivels in insecurity?
Who is able a secure future to see more so than a Spirit Almighty?
Given tasks to eat, sleep, reproduce in joy; effervescent like seltzer water bubbling in a container until knocked over by an envious invisible hand to spread and fizzle rapidly across a table with many leaves added in humanities span. Dropping off into blank space
until
in grace,
a hand collects and replaces cups, vases holding liquid precious,
life
no longer disdained… Effervescent again to eternal remain. In freedom relative, since absolute belongs to One Almighty only.
Still
happy
as a reuniting of rainbow bubbles
of families
are to earth reclaimed under flags of ‘True peace and security’
animated in a strong breeze carrying aromas of common to exotic
nostrils to titillate and tongues to salivate.
“May I have more,
if you please…?”
