Flight or fight?

If I stay,
how will I make things right?

By what I say?…

Or
stand and deliver
with power and might

as darkness falls;
not to be seen red rising
as a national blight?

In the morning will I be able to gain insight?

Or will I be dead…

Waiting… asleep
without a peep

for a resurrection to take place
as promised:

“Do not be amazed at this,
for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice
and come out”…

instead of retreating
in peace?

Isn’t walking or sometimes running away
the best release?

To see the sun rise,
as long as we can hold up our heads
with legitimate pride:
