Our Heritage

“This
is the heritage

of the servants
of Jehovah,

And their righteousness
is from me,”
declares

Jehovah.”—

“No weapon formed against you
will have any success,

And you will condemn
any tongue
that rises up against you

in the judgment.”

For,
“The Sovereign Lord Jehovah
has given me the tongue of those taught,

(Or
“a well-trained tongue.”)

So that I may know how to answer the tired one
with the right word.

He awakens me
morning by morning;

He awakens my ear
to listen

like
the taught ones.”

“So go now,
and I will be with you as you speak,

and I will teach you what you should say.”

“And when they are taking you
to hand you over,

do not be anxious beforehand about what to say;

but whatever is given you in that hour,
say this,

for you are not the ones speaking,
but the holy spirit is.”

“Therefore,

resolve in your hearts not to rehearse beforehand
how to make your defense,

for I will give you words and wisdom
that all your opposers together

will not be able to resist or dispute.”

However,

“reject foolish and ignorant debates,
knowing that they produce fights.

For a slave of the Lord
does not need to fight,

but needs to be gentle toward all,
qualified to teach,
showing restraint when wronged,
instructing with mildness

those not favorably disposed.

Perhaps God may give them repentance
leading to

an accurate knowledge of truth,

and

they may come to their senses
and escape from the snare of the Devil,

seeing that they have been caught alive
by him

to do
his will.”

“The kings of the earth
take their stand

And high officials gather together
as one

Against

Jehovah

and against his anointed one.”
Christ–Our Now Reigning King.

Who
will soon
bring

to a conclusion this prophecy:

“In the days of those kings
the God of heaven
will set up a kingdom

that will never be destroyed.

And this kingdom
will not be passed on to any other people.

It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms,

and it alone will stand forever,

just as you saw that out of the mountain a stone was cut not by hands,
and that it crushed the iron, the copper, the clay, the silver, and the gold.

The Grand God has made known to the king
what will happen in the future.

The dream is true,
and its interpretation is trustworthy.”

“there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise,

and in these
righteousness is to dwell.”

“For look!
I am creating new heavens and a new earth;

And the former things

will not be called to mind,
Nor will they come up into the heart.”

“And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes,
and death will be no more,
neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.

The former things have passed away.”
