‘Enter Your Inner Rooms’ (Compilation)

“Go,
my people,

enter your inner rooms,
And shut your doors behind you.” Isa. 26:20.

*

“They kept going to Noah inside the ark, two by two, of every sort of flesh that has the breath of life.

So they went in, male and female of every sort of flesh,
just as God had commanded him.

After that Jehovah shut the door behind him.” Gen. 7:15, 16.

*

“Then you must dip a bunch of hyssop into the blood that is in a basin and strike the upper part of the doorway and the two doorposts with the blood; and none of you should go out of the entrance of his house until morning.

Then when Jehovah passes through to plague the Egyptians and sees the blood on the upper part of the doorway and on the two doorposts,

Jehovah will certainly pass over the entrance,

and he will not allow the plague of death to enter into your houses.” Ex. 12:22, 23.

*

“The name of Jehovah is a strong tower.

Into it the righteous one runs
and receives protection*.”… Lit., “is raised high,” that is, out of reach, safe. Prov. 18:10.

*

God said:

“Because he has affection for me,
I will rescue him.

I will protect him because he knows my name.” Ps. 91:14.

*

“Those knowing your name will trust in you;

You will never abandon
those seeking you, O Jehovah.” Ps. 9:10.

*

“Jehovah is my crag and my stronghold and the One who rescues me.

My God is my rock,
in whom I take refuge,

My shield and my horn of salvation, my secure refuge.” Ps. 18:2

*

“Hide yourself
for a brief moment

Until the wrath* has passed by.”… Or “denunciation.” Isa. 26:20.

*

“‘You have seen for yourselves what I did to the Egyptians,
in order to carry you on wings of eagles and bring you to myself.” Ex. 19:4.

*

“Just as an eagle stirs up its nest,
Hovers over its fledglings,
Spreading out its wings, taking them,
Carrying them on its pinions”. Deut. 32:11.

*

“With his pinions he will cover you,
And under his wings you will take refuge.

His faithfulness will be a large shield and a protective wall.” Ps. 91:4.

*

“For he will hide me in his shelter

on the day of calamity;

He will conceal me in the secret place of his tent”. Ps. 27:5.

*

“O Jehovah, who may be a guest in your tent?
Who may reside in your holy mountain?

The one who is walking faultlessly,
Practicing what is right
And speaking the truth in his heart.

He does not slander with his tongue,
He does nothing bad to his neighbor,
And he does not defame his friends.

He rejects anyone who is contemptible,
But he honors those fearing Jehovah.

He does not go back on his promise,
even when it is bad for him.

He does not lend his money on interest,
And he does not accept a bribe against the innocent.

Whoever does these things will never be shaken.” Ps. 15:1-5.

*

“One thing I have asked from Jehovah
—It is what I will look for—

That I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life,

To gaze upon the pleasantness of Jehovah
And to look with appreciation upon his temple.” Ps. 27:4

“I rejoiced when they said to me:
“Let us go to the house of Jehovah.”” Ps. 122:1.

“For a day in your courtyards is better than a thousand anywhere else!

I choose to stand at the threshold of the house of my God
Rather than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.” Ps. 84:10.

“Send out your light and your truth.
May these lead me;

May they guide me to your holy mountain and to your grand tabernacle.

Then I will come to the altar of God,
To God, my exceeding joy.

And I will praise you with the harp, O God, my God.” Ps. 43:3, 4.

“Happy is the one whom you choose and bring near
To reside in your courtyards.

We will be satisfied with the goodness of your house,
Your holy temple.” Ps. 65:4.

*

“Happy are those dwelling in your house!
They continue to praise you.” Ps. 84:4.

*

“Praise Jah!
Praise God in his holy place.
Praise him in the expanse of his strength.” Ps. 150:1.

“In the courtyards of the house of Jehovah,
In your midst, O Jerusalem.

Praise Jah!” Ps. 116:19.

“Give Jehovah the glory due his name;
Bring a gift and come into his courtyards.” Ps. 96:8.

*

For “‘He made his sanctuary as enduring as the heavens,
Like the earth that he has established forever.” Ps. 78:69.

*

“Of what benefit is a carved image
When its maker has carved it?

Of what benefit is a metal statue and a teacher of lies,
Even though its maker trusts in it,

Making worthless gods that are speechless?”

Woe to the one who says to a piece of wood, “Awake!”
Or to a speechless stone, “Wake up! Instruct us!”

Look! It is overlaid in gold and silver,
And there is no breath at all within it.

But Jehovah is in his holy temple.

Be silent before him,

all the earth!’” Hab. 2:18-20.

*

“Why are the nations agitated
And the peoples muttering an empty thing?

The kings of the earth take their stand
And high officials gather together as one

Against Jehovah and against his anointed one.

They say: “Let us tear off their shackles
And throw off their ropes!”

The One enthroned in the heavens will laugh;
Jehovah will scoff at them.

At that time he will speak to them in his anger
And terrify them in his burning anger,
Saying:

“I myself have installed my king
On Zion, my holy mountain.”

Let me proclaim the decree of Jehovah;

He said to me:
“You are my son;
Today I have become your father.

Ask of me, and I will give nations as your inheritance
And the ends of the earth as your possession.

You will break them with an iron scepter,
And you will smash them like a piece of pottery.”

So now, you kings, show insight;
Accept correction, you judges of the earth.

Serve Jehovah with fear,
And rejoice with trembling.

Honor the son, or God will become indignant
And you will perish from the way,

For His anger flares up quickly.

Happy are all those taking refuge in Him.” Ps. 2:1-12.

*

“Go, my people, enter your inner rooms,
And shut your doors behind you.

Hide yourself for a brief moment
Until the wrath has passed by.” Isa. 26:20.
