‘The Shadow of a Cloud’

‘The Shadow of a Cloud’

“Like heat that is subdued by the shadow of a cloud,
So the song of the tyrants is silenced.” Isa. 25:5.

*

Oppressive heat depletes:

Wilts you like daisies in hand
without water to petals expand.

Drops you to your feeble knees.
Knocks you off your swollen feet.

But a ‘shadow of a cloud’ may provide protection.
Refuge. Relief.

*

“Jehovah is guarding you.
Jehovah is the shade at your right hand.” Ps. 121:5.

“Anyone dwelling in the secret place of the Most High
Will lodge under the shadow of the Almighty.” Ps. 91:1.

*

“Show me favor, O God, show me favor,
For I take refuge in you,

And in the shadow of your wings I take refuge until the troubles pass.” Ps. 57:1.

*

“For you have become a stronghold to the lowly,
A stronghold to the poor in his distress,

A refuge from the rainstorm,
And a shade from the heat.

When the blast of the tyrants is like a rainstorm against a wall”. Isa. 25:4.
