Mee Naseen was not Asian in presence, but in demeanor. Considered old-school in essential etiquette. (She actually offered an increasingly popular on-line course called Daily Manners for those desiring to be globally acceptable.) But her assumed name allowed her to mingle among her guests without constantly stopping to hear about wants or expectations exorbitant from the Inn.

Unfortunately, people seemed to always want to be presented as ‘special’ in the eyes of fellow present or future guests. Asking for things beyond what was promised in Highly Esteemed brochures to be able to ‘brag’ about what was done personally for them. Mee Naseen liked doing special things for those not expecting it. So she kept an ear out to surprise the unsuspecting… It was a treat for her.

Because being African-American, they did not suspect that she could possibly be responsible for the ownership and loveliness of this thriving estate. So whenever she happened upon a truly kind individual, she was more than happy to make their stay even more memorable.

The actual previous owners agreed to be the continued face of the establishment until she could devote total attention to her artistic vision for the property. But, in the meantime, during a time of extreme abnormality–Covid-19 induced, the Inn devoted most of its energy to providing for the needs of the community–Cooking for senior deliveries; temporarily providing quarantine rooms for hospital personnel, police officers. Those on the front line. With Lucia taking barbs about her being subservient because of a lack of education and drive. It was in the best interest of the Inn to pretend.

But, as soon as these ‘Last Days’ ended, Mee Naseen, will become visible and open her doors to youthful looking individuals with stories to exchange about how they survived the “Great Tribulation’ over a wide variety of delicious multinational cuisine. Poets, writers, singers, dancers, thinkers, dreamers… All, ancient and current, will be ‘Welcome’ on the lovely grounds in the comfortable confines of ‘Highly Esteemeds” beautiful walls.
