Back to Basic Bartering? (contest Bartering Are We Headed Back To This – Storiesuntold
not trying to top the mountain
as ‘king of the hill’
slaughter all valid ‘handshakes’
camaraderie kill…
Bartering is for those
who loving community knows
shares all useful skills
for strong families
to unitedly grow…
Bartering is for those
who unselfishness learn
as envy has no kept seat
and jealousy is strenuously spurned…
Bartering is for those
who ‘love’ desire to globally sprout
as ‘shoulder-to-shoulder’ we prune our personal gardens
eliminating crippling weeds of dishonesty.
But we distribute literal and spiritual ‘produce’
to many who now live without tragically…

Bartering I’d lived with for over 15 years
as a volunteer worker (handbook-bindery) taught.
These skills then not really required
as only my willingness was genuinely sought.
Doctors, lawyers, nurses, etc., indeed
all lived together to accomplish a good deed–
Spread the ‘Good News of God’s Kingdom’
Internationally…

Bartering I can imagine wonderfully to go
as a spring thaws winter, though some think…
‘Snow melts kinda slow’.
But a ‘New World’ is on our horizon
after ‘accurate knowledge’ ‘good deeds’ does sow.
Gone the wicked. No longer to know.
Then eternally we’ll see
what Jah has always wanted
to His loyal ones show:
His unreserved love for his children as Sovereign universal ruler
loving and kind.
As we see he’s already giving rain and sun,
even now to all humankind.
But in the future
we will infinitely receive
His benevolence
to explode like stars
even more
unimaginably so…
As no more stressful worry over
daily livelihood anxieties to cause gloom and doom
in our bodies
to be
as cancer bestowed.

“No more will there be an infant from that place who lives but a few days,
Nor an old man who fails to live out his days.
For anyone who dies at a hundred will be considered a mere boy,
And the sinner will be cursed, even though he is a hundred years of age.
They will build houses and live in them,
And they will plant vineyards and eat their fruitage.
They will not build for someone else to inhabit,
Nor will they plant for others to eat.
For the days of my people will be like the days of a tree,
And the work of their hands my chosen ones will enjoy to the full.
They will not toil* for nothing,
Nor will they bear children for distress,
Because they are the offspring made up of those blessed by Jehovah,
And their descendants with them.
Even before they call out, I will answer;
While they are yet speaking, I will hear.
The wolf and the lamb will feed together,
The lion will eat straw just like the bull,
And the serpent’s food will be dust.
They will do no harm nor cause any ruin in all my holy mountain,” says Jehovah.’ Isa. 65:20-25.
When was the last time you helped another with your knowledge and they helped you and no money ever changed hands
When was the last time you mentored a young person to help them learn your trade and they helped you with jobs you needed help with
Tell me when kindness and respect rises above money how would this benefit all
I love to barter and it has allowed me to meet new people and get things done at times I hadn’t a dime so where do you stand on bartering .
A BARTERING SYSTEM AT WORK
During the 1930’s great hardship was brought about by the Depression. Factories closed their doors. By 1932 over 10,000,000 residents of the United States were without employment. Farmers, city dwellers—the populace in general—felt the effects of the Great Depression.
Money was scarce, but honest-hearted ones needed the joyous message of Scriptural truth. If individuals were unable to contribute for Bible literature, Jehovah’s witnesses often left it with them free. But this could not always be done. What was an alternative? Margaret M. Bridgett recalls: “We traded for produce such as eggs, butter, fresh and canned fruits, chickens, maple syrup; and I traded for needlework—quilt tops, cushion tops, tatting and homemade rugs. Sometimes I could trade some of these things for my room rent. . . . [Years later] I attended a Gilead [missionary school] graduation and a sister was there who had gotten a set of books from me by trading quilt tops. She got the truth and was then a pioneer [full-time preacher] and her son was interested.”
Arden Pate and John C. Booth recall having small coops on the back of their cars so that they could carry the chickens they traded for literature placed with individuals lacking money. Of course, bartering publications for chickens was not always a simple matter. Lula Glover writes: “We covered lots of territory in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolina, and some in Tennessee and Mississippi. Can you visualize Sister Green and myself chasing chickens over those big farmyards?”
Trading literature for produce and other things was not done for selfish reasons. The people needed the good news and this was a way to receive it in printed form. “We always thanked Jehovah for sustaining us,” says Maxwell L. Lewis, “and we always had what we needed in the way of food, shelter and clothing.” https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/301975003?q=bartering&p=par
