‘They Will Plant Vineyards’ (contest Vineyard – Danna Hobart)
And they will plant vineyards and eat their fruitage.
They will not build for someone else to inhabit,
Nor will they plant for others to eat.
For the days of my people will be like the days of a tree,
And the work of their hands
my chosen ones will enjoy to the full.”
Isa 65:21, 22.

Though heavenly life would seemingly be grand
where peace is found for righteous man
with Christ, angels, an Almighty too
the spirit world is blind to me
although maybe its glorious ‘thrones’ for you.
Give me acres of luxurious land
for me to plant myself vines to grow
grapes, vegetables, fruits bounteous
to loved ones here
generously bestow
even under partial to full moons’
glow
for family and friends
by hospitality’s demand
vast time to spin
further in love
to unitedly show.
Fields and hills
far
for glistening eyes to see
harmony
entwined as spreading vines
vast among an international
humanity
cleansed of wars and crime
committed globally
horrendously:
“When the wicked sprout like weeds
And all the wrongdoers flourish,
It is that they may be annihilated forever.”
Ps. 92:7.
Yes,
“As for the wicked,
they will be cut off from the earth,
And the treacherous will be torn away from it.”
Prov. 2:22.
Gone forever
demonic travesties.
“Come and witness the activities of Jehovah,
How he has done astonishing things on the earth.
He is bringing an end to wars throughout the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
He burns the military wagons with fire.
“Give in and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations;
I will be exalted in the earth.”
Ps. 46:8-10.

Now flourishing:
True Peace and utter Security.
Under the direction
of the designated One:
The Prince of Peace.
Jah Jehovah’s Son.
This earth
the meek and righteous ones
prophesied
to enjoy
for an undeserved
eternity:
“Happy are the mild-tempered,
since they will inherit the earth.”
Matt. 5:5.

“But the righteous will flourish like a palm tree
And grow big like a cedar in Lebʹa·non.
They are planted in the house of Jehovah;
They flourish in the courtyards of our God.
Even in old age they will still be thriving;
They will remain vigorous and fresh”.
Ps. 92:12-14.

“In that day sing to her:
“A vineyard of foaming wine!
I, Jehovah, am safeguarding her.
Every moment I water her.
I safeguard her night and day,
So that no one may harm her.”
Isa. 27:2, 3.
Vineyard is your prompt. I grew up working in vineyards, so I am looking forward to some beautiful poetry about them.
NO PEDESTRIAN RHYME! No purple prose. Show- don’t tell. Don’t be cliche. No lyrics. Imagery and metaphor are what I look for. If you enter something without imagery and metaphor, you will have no chance of winning this contest.
