Clothe Ourselves
Is riches and glory and life.”
Pro. 22:4.
“But all of you
clothe yourselves with humility
toward one another,
because God opposes the haughty ones,
but he gives undeserved kindness to the humble ones.”
1 Pet. 5:5.
*
For
does not
‘humility’
produce
peace and harmony
as with mildness and patience
intertwined
lifted up we are
as roses
colorful
on a vine
climbing
trestles of love
with branches
reaching
all of
humankind?
Yes,
Humility
refines
willing
minds.
*
Therefore, can we not heed this admontion humbly and with kindness align:
“Clothe yourselves with the tender affections of compassion, kindness, humility, mildness, and patience.
Continue putting up with one another and forgiving one another freely
even if anyone has a cause for complaint against another.
Just as Jehovah freely forgave you,
you must also do the same.
But besides all these things,
clothe yourselves with love,
for it is a perfect bond of union.”
Col. 3:12-14.
*
For if with these garments we seek to bind
our corrupted hearts
we’ll find
that we can keep out the coldness of racism and hatred combined.
And those meek and humble ones will place themselves in line to receive
the fulfillment of these words:
“Happy are the mild-tempered,
since they will inherit the earth.”
Matt. 5:5.
