If I Could Fly . . .contest Brevity Contest/Flight – Writinstuffs
was gifted me
I’d journal my adventures as a drone
For all to see
the good done by humanity.
While suffering in silence about
“Man dominating man to his injury”…
*
You’d read of radiant splendor for a blazing sun descended, then ascending.
A horizon exploding reds, after blues,
becoming muted before their day is done.
*
You’d read of children briefly lost
laughing in a daised field.
No land mines hidden
their hearts to kill.
News of reunions upon a hill
Would every day as an editor
My column fill.
In flight I’d view
Marriages new or old renewed.
Except with no divorce
Coded inside
As an alternative
When no longer desired
The groom or the bride.
*
Among the doves of peace
I’d freely be
To write of love global.
Where all dwell together
In ‘true peace’
and earthwide harmony.
*
I’d write the coming soon future
Although flying
Crying
Today
Over brutal insanity.
If you could fly, what would it feel like? Would you feel really light weight? Would it be freeing? Invigorating? Frustrating or enlightening? Imagine yourself with wings and write me a poem with Brevity on flight.
