With family or beloved friends
I’m wary of all sins.

“Hate what is bad,
and love what is good”.*

On this
friendship with God depends.

“‘All those for whom I have affection,”
Christ says: “I reprove and discipline.

So be zealous and repent.”#

“Can a Cushʹite change his skin,
or a leopard its spots?

If so, then you can do good,
You who are trained to do bad.”^

With patience,
practiced errors we can learn to resent.

Consciousness can change a course.
Wickedness it can prevent.

“The wounds inflicted by a friend
are faithful,
But an enemy’s kisses
are plentiful.”▪

“Even if you pound a fool with a pestle
Like crushed grain in a mortar,
His foolishness will not leave him.”°
The stubborn, willful and sinful.

Is this who we are?… If not,
of this we should be mindful

admonition not to circumvent:

“Hear and pay attention.

Do not be haughty, for Jehovah has spoken.

Give glory to Jehovah your God
Before he brings darkness
And before your feet stumble on the mountains at dusk.” Jer 13:15, 16.

“Be wise, my son, and make my heart rejoice,
So that I can make a reply to him who taunts me.” Pro. 27:11.
