Sunrises
glorious, bright
unveiled.
Moons too divide
time spun.
Darkness falls.
Night.
When wild animals roam.
Then sun again rises;
tilted blinds for light;
sight.
So man goes to work
mourning until dawn
frightened.
*
Yet,
Sun rises.
Tomorrows.
Beginnings.
Endings.
Dew evaporates.
Dew renews.
Between ascents
descents–
sheers.
Horrors.
Delights.

“He has made the moon to mark the appointed times;
The sun well knows when to set.
You bring darkness, and night falls,
When all the wild animals of the forest roam about.
The young lions roar for their prey
And seek their food from God.
When the sun rises,
They withdraw and lie down in their dens.
Man goes to his work,
And he labors until evening.
How many your works are, O Jehovah!
You have made all of them in wisdom.
The earth is full of what you have made.” Ps. 104:19-24.
