Refreshing or Refuse

Refreshing or Refuse (1st draft)

A cube of ice in a bowl
speaks out belligerently bold:
“I… am cold!”

Other cubes begin to rattle and clink
forgetting they are designed

to elevate

some other’s drink.

If given warmth
will they not shrink

into a puddle

heated up in anger
before preferred usage

with
a delicious
muddle;

now
of no
true value

to be poured
down a drain

wasted

sinking

through

after bitterness
became introduced?

Rather

ending
in pipes

of someone’s sink

since
permitting
discontentment of others
to become
your

‘think’?

*

“Do nothing out of contentiousness or out of egotism,

but with humility
consider others superior to you,

as you look out not only for your own interests,
but also for the interests of others.” Phil. 2:3, 4
