Revelation Twelve . . . Into It We Must Delve
seen
“arrayed with the sun,”
the moon beneath her feet. On her head a crown–12 stars.
Pregnant was she.
Crying out in pain and agony.
Her desire to give birth. A king son to justifiably delete
from our earth
“A great fiery-colored dragon, with seven heads and ten horns and on its heads seven diadems” worn.
Why God’s Messianic kingdom was born.
To erase completely all wicked effects
of Adam’s sin… Our lives to perfect
eternally
to win.
Yet, a third of God’s angels demonized tried,
under Satan’s direction, to swallow this child–this
“son, a male,
who is to shepherd all the nations
with an iron rod.” Jah Jehovah’s pride.
But Jesus, “her child
was snatched away to God and to his throne.”
Then she did flee:
“And the woman fled into the wilderness,
where she has a place prepared by God
and where they would feed her for 1, 260 days.”*
For “a time and times and half a time
away from the face of the serpent.”
Until a time when “war broke out in heaven:
Michael and his angels battled with the dragon,
and the dragon and its angels battled
but they did not prevail,
nor was a place found for them any longer in heaven.
So down the great dragon was hurled,
the original serpent,
the one called Devil and Satan,
who is misleading the entire inhabited earth;
he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.” Our lives to assail:
“because the accuser of our brothers has been hurled down, who accuses them day and night before our God!
And they conquered him
because of the blood of the Lamb
and because of the word of their witnessing,
and they did not love their souls even in the face of death.”
This brief sleep inflicted
only a temporary theft.
While faithful angels in heaven rejoiced
for Christ and his kingdom power
for now had come the designated hour:
“Now have come to pass the salvation and the power and the Kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ”… “On this account be glad, you heavens and you who reside in them!”
But,
“Woe for the earth and for the sea,
because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing that he has a short period of time.”
This is that time foretold to be
since 1914 in our bloodied history.
For “when the dragon saw that it had been hurled down to the earth,
it persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child.”
Yes, “the serpent spewed out water like a river from its mouth after the woman, to cause her to be drowned”. Since, no longer the Christ on earth physically would be found.
“But the earth came to the woman’s help,
and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river that the dragon spewed out from its mouth.” Persecution oftentimes halted by international courts aid felt.
“So the dragon became enraged at the woman and went off to wage war with the remaining ones of her offspring,
(that prophesied seed of Genesis 3:15.)
who observe the commandments of God
and have the work of bearing witness concerning Jesus.”
Their work to attempt to thoroughly and infinitely impede…
● How can one know for sure that the “time and times and half a time” of Revelation 12:14 amount to three and a half times?
That verse reads: “But the two wings of the great eagle were given the woman, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place; there is where she is fed for a time and times and half a time away from the face of the serpent.”—Rev. 12:14.
It is useful to be sure of the length of time mentioned there. Why? Because this information helps a person to establish the length of the “seven times” in Daniel’s prophecy of a huge tree that was cut down, as well as Jesus’ reference to the “appointed times of the nations.”—Dan. 4:16, 23-25; Luke 21:24.
The original Greek at Revelation 12:14 reads, “appointed time and appointed times and half of appointed time.” Now, what is meant by the middle expression, “times”? If it is two, then the total is three and a half. But if it were understood as four or ten, for example, then the total would be five and a half or eleven and a half. How does one know what John meant?
In the centuries before Revelation was written, the Greek language used a dual form, a grammatical form that indicated two of some thing. However, the dual form is not used in the Greek Scriptures, or New Testament; only the singular and plural forms are used. With the plural form a specific number could be added to indicate exactly how many of something, such as “seven heads.”—Rev. 12:3.
Greek scholars recognize that when the Bible uses the plural form without a qualifying number, it must be understood as meaning the minimum plural amount, that is, two. German theologian John Albert Bengel commented on this verse: “The plural, kairous, times, denotes two times. The plural number is to be taken most strictly.”
Hence, Revelation 12:14 means three and a half times. By comparing this with the 1,260 days mentioned in Re 12 verse 6 (as well as with Revelation 11:2, 3), the student of the Bible can see that the “seven times” in Daniel chapter four amount to 2,520 days.
